How
to Care for Your Laminate Flooring
Laminate
floors are without a doubt one of the hottest floor coverings around.
Their durability and ease of maintenance make them the perfect choice
for today's active families. With so many styles and patterns
to choose from, you're certain to find a product to compliment your
decor. |
||
Though extremely durable, laminate flooring is not indestructible and can be damaged. Scratches can be avoided by placing "Felt Pads" on furniture and sweeping, vacuuming or dusting often. Place walk off mats at all entrances to your home.
When your laminate floor's surface needs cleaning, always use the manufacturers recommended cleaner. If in doubt or you are uncertain of the brand, the Flor Stor recommends using "Bona Swedish Formula Stone, Tile & Laminate Floor Cleaner" or better yet get the whole "Bona Microfiber Hardsurface Mop Kit", containing everything you need to maintain your laminate floor. |
||
Laminate floors have a tendency to steak if too much cleaner , the wrong cleaner or excessive water is used, because of this we recommend using the "Bona Mop" to eliminate streaking and avoid excess water being applied to your floor. Also, place rugs at strategic areas in your home such as at sinks and tubs to avoid possible water damage to your floor.
To remove tough spots/stains on your laminate floor such as shoe polish, tar, markers, or heavy scuff marks, wipe the effected area with a rag dampened with alcohol, nail polish remover/acetone or mineral spirits.
Under no circumstances should your laminate floors ever be sanded, remember it is only a photograph applied to a melamine laminate.
